When they revived the TV show in 85 or 86, the boys recorded the opening theme music. Perfect choice, no?

Merl Saunders and the Grateful Dead did a soundtrack album for the remake as well. From what I remember it was more Merl's project than the Deads. He asked them to help. This also explains the TZ tunings in the 80s and those couple shows with Merl sitting in as guest during this period.
